Eternal Expectation
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely… at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”
1 Thessalonians 5:23
The Apostle Paul ends this wonderful epistle with an encouraging reminder that God has committed Himself to the great task of shaping us to be like Jesus in our character. You may feel like you haven’t made much progress at all in the Christian life, and you may be on the edge of giving up, but don’t! God is able to take you through any challenges, defeat any habits, and overcome any weaknesses that you have. He has committed Himself to making you like His Son. You cannot give up, because HE certainly won’t!
Heavenly Father, thank you for assuring me that no matter how discouraged I get in my effort to become more like Your Son, YOU will not give up on me! Help me to lean into my challenges, even more today, with the knowledge that when I see You, I will see Christ in me! Amen
