Join us for V4 Youth Ministry
JR High Night - Wednesdays 6:30-8:30PM - Room CE1
SR High Night - Thursdays 6:30-8:30PM - Room CE1
We believe that our students are not the future generation of the church—they are a vital part of the church today! Therefore, we want to do everything we can to help them become faithful followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have adopted the approach presented by Paul in Ephesians 4:11-12 where he says; “And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ.” We want our ministry to equip our students for this work by helping them KNOW THE GOSPEL.
We want to help students know and love The Gospel of Jesus Christ. At its core, the Gospel is the story that the Bible tells. In the beginning God created all things. God declared all his creation as good and mankind was able to enjoy the personal presence of God. But, the first humans (Adam and Eve) chose to disobey and sin against God. Now we are all separated from a relationship with God and are described by the Bible as being “sinful by nature and by choice.” Furthermore, all creation suffers from the corruption of sin. However, God promised to redeem all of his creation, namely mankind, through his Son Jesus Christ. This redemption was accomplished through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. It is only through Jesus that we are able to enjoy a new personal relationship with God once again.
When we say we want students to know The Gospel, we are wanting them to know it in three ways:
1) Know the Gospel as Salvation
Possessing an intimate knowledge of the Gospel as described above will result in students coming to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
2) Know the Gospel as Worldview
The Gospel will change the way students see, understand, and even live in the world.
3) Know the Gospel as Mission
A firm understanding of the Gospel will inspire students to purposefully share it with those around them—both locally and abroad.
WHAT TO EXPECT…
Wednesday/Thursday Nights from 6:30pm-8:30pm
A typical Wednesday (Jr. High) or Thursday (Sr. High) Night begins with a time of fellowship in room CE 1. Students are welcomed by leaders and staff, as well as given the opportunity to socialize with one another. Later there will be announcements regarding upcoming events and a fun game to get everyone’s energy up. Next, we transition into a time of Worship through music, followed by a message from the Bible. Finally, we dedicate the last thirty minutes to discussion groups. Students are broken up according to grade and gender to discuss the message with adult staff members.
Our hope in our Ministry is to provide a fun and welcoming environment for students to learn about The Gospel. We welcome students from all areas of life—whether you are familiar with the church or whether this is your first time at church. Our Leaders and Staff cannot wait to meet you and we know our current students will share our enthusiasm.
Sunday Mornings from 9:15am-10:15am
Our Sunday mornings tend to be less structured. We specifically use this time to open up the Bible with our students. Typically, you will find us sitting around on our couches, going chapter by chapter through one of the books of the Bible. Our hope is that students will be able to draw life changing truth from the Word of God and share that truth with their peers.
