What is GO4th?
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20
The most important thing to God is worship. He is a jealous God and desires nothing more than our complete worship. Disciple making exists because worship doesn’t. The nuclear fuel that powers disciple making is the passion of worship. No one can adequately promote a passion they don’t have. We often think the passage of Matt. 28: 18-20 refers to foreign missions. The reality is that disciple making is the business of every Christian, whether at home or abroad. It is not optional. It is a direct command personally given to every believer.
At Valley Fourth Church it is our goal to be obedient to all the commands of Jesus. We desire not to be lukewarm, but rather to be boldly blazing for Jesus. It has been our history to share Jesus locally as well as world-wide with the deep passion of an intense lighthouse beam cutting through the dense fog laid down by Satan and the things of this world.
WHO IS A MISSIONARY (GO4th Partner)?
Actually we are all missionaries. Jesus made no distinction between full time professional missionaries and anyone else. He gave all of us the very same directive. Every believer needs to look for opportunities and be ready to share the good news of the gospel and encourage others to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
How do we GO4th?
At Valley Fourth Church there are resources available for our people to present the Gospel of Jesus appropriately, with sensitivity, understanding, and compassion to their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Our people are also encouraged to participate as helpers and workers in local outreach activities that have a presence in our local community. Meeting the physical, emotional or financial needs of individuals is often an entry point to share the love of Jesus. It is our desire to be able to connect our people with organizations that reach out to the needy.
Cross-cultural outreach is a large part of how we reach those of a different people group. Valley 4th Church encourages, prays for and supports trained professionals who work in a different culture. There are 20 of those professionals presently supported by Valley Fourth Church. Oftentimes our cross-cultural professionals have need for some short-term help. In those situations Valley Fourth Church seeks to send out volunteers to assist with that specific need.
HOW ARE MISSIONARIES FUNDED?
Churches, personal friends and/or organizations agree to be used by God as a financial conduit. They send the missionary to a specific task and fund that person. The arrangement is similar to the arrangement a church has to its pastors.
