True Words - Pt. 2

Truth and Consequences

Last Sunday we continued our exploration of Luke 12:8-9, and discovered that regardless of how people feel about the supposed “unfairness of God” in holding some people out of heaven, in actuality God is extremely fair in how He will handle everyone’s desire for a relationship with Him at the end of time. Simply put, Jesus said “If you acknowledge Me, I will acknowledge you before my angels.  If you deny Me, I will deny you before them.” It could not be clearer. In settling the eternal slate someday, Jesus will be as fair with us as we were with Him. The time to settle the ledger, my dear seeking friend, is now. Trust Christ today.  Explore this important text with us in the latest edition of Walking Further.

The Risen One -     Part One

This past Palm Sunday I began to open up one of the greatest passages on the majesty of Jesus ever penned, Colossians 1:15-20. In it, Paul deconstructed the small thinking of some heretical teachers concerning Jesus, and built a great declaration of the greatness of Jesus as the Revealer of God and the Creator of the Universe. If your eyes are getting wide right now as you read this because you “Never knew that Jesus was all THAT…” then read our Walking Further for this week. And welcome to the Greatness of Jesus!

The Prayers of the Passion - Part 9

Are the words of Jesus that He has gone “To prepare a place for you” precious to you as a Christian? Ever wonder just why He is doing that for you, and what exactly is in store for you in heaven? Check out this week’s Walking Further for insights on what it REALLY means to be the Bride of Christ.

Be blessed,
Pastor Joe

The Prayers of the Passion - Part 7

Are you a spiritual leader? Before you say “Me? Nah!”, stop and think about whether someone in your life makes some of their spiritual decisions based on your influence. A believer you meet with for coffee after work every week. People in the small group you lead. Kids in the Bible class you co-teach every Sunday. If you have influence, then you are a leader. And if you seek to influence others for the Gospel, you are not only a leader, you are under opposition from the Enemy of Souls, Satan himself. That’s why you need to know the way Jesus prays for spiritual leaders, right now, in the very throne room of God in heaven. Our message last Sunday touched on how Jesus prays for His leaders, based on His prayer for the Apostles in John 17. Return to those thoughts with us this week…. and be encouraged!
